POLICE want to speak to this man after a woman was hit over the head with a wine bottle during a row outside a Prestwich takeaway.

The 23-year-old victim was attacked outside the Spice and Grill takeaway in bury New Road on Sunday, October 27 by a woman who got out of a car.

After leaving the takeaway there was a row between the woman, her friends and the occupants of a car parked outside the takeaway.

There was a woman sat in the driver's seat of the car and an Asian man sat in the front passenger seat.

The victim and her friends continued to walk along the road as the car drove alongside them.

The woman then got out of the car and hit the victim with a wine bottle causing a serious cut to her lip which required stitching.

The woman then got back in the car and drove away.

The victim had earlier been in the nearby Red Lion pub, also in Bury New Road, which she left at about 12.30am.

The attacker was about 5ft 8in tall, medium build with long, straight, dyed blonde hair.

She is thought to be aged between 25 and 35 and had a strong Manchester accent.

The car was a dark coloured Audi A3.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses and have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the assault.

Det Con Martin Brown, of Bury Police, said: "We have released an image of a man we are keen to speak to as we believe he is a key witness and may have vital information.

"If this is you, or you know who it is, please get in touch with police.

"Alternatively, if you were in the area at the time and remember seeing the incident we would also be interested to hear from you."
