POLICE tracker dogs trailed footprints in the snow after a Fiat Panda car was badly damaged in an arson attack.
The car’s front wheel was set on fire when the vehicle was in the driveway of a property in Danesmoor Drive, Bury.
The fire spread to the engine compartment and to the inside of the Fiat.
Fire officers from Bury tackled the blaze which broke out at 3.15am on Monday and spent 45 minutes at the scene.
Later, police and tracker dogs followed snowy footprints. No arrests were made and inquiries are continuing.
l Three cars were damaged after a suspected arson attack on a Ford Fiesta in Willow Street, Bury, in the early hours of Monday.
The incident caused the burning vehicle, which was on an incline, to roll into a nearby Vauxhall Zafira which then collided with a BMW.
Fire officers said malicious ignition was a possible cause of the incident, which happened at 2.45am. A fire crew from Whitefield spent an hour at the scene.
