POLICE are looking for a man who wiped excrement on two women in a pub in Ramsbottom.

They have released the image of a man wanted in connection with the incidents, which took place in the Oakes Pub, in Bridge Street.

The first incident took place on Friday, October 12, at around 11.30pm.

A 46-year-old woman was approached by a man after he had walked into the men’s toilets.

He appeared to wipe something on her arm before walking off. It was only when he walked away, she realised it was excrement.

The second incident took place at the same pub at around 9pm on Thursday, October 25.

Again, a man walked into the men’s toilet and approached a 52-year-old woman. She felt her clothing being touched and looked down to see excrement on her sleeve.

The man is described as white, aged 45 to 50, of medium build and around 5ft 8in to 6ft tall.

He had short cropped hair that was grey at the side and wore a dark jacket, check shirt with a grey t-shirt underneath.

Police Constable Rachael Allen, based at Bury Police Station, said: “This is a disgusting act that has left two women deeply shocked by what has happened. This was a completely unprovoked assault by a man the victims did not know and we believe the same person is responsible for both incidents.

“The image captured on CCTV is very clear and I believe that someone will recognise the man. If you do, I urge you to contact police. Alternatively, if you were at the pub at the time of both incidents and saw something suspicious, please call us.”
