DANNY Boyle will return to the theatre this year, directing the National Theatre’s new production of Frankenstein in London.
The multi-Oscar winning director started his career in the theatre, directing productions at the Royal Shakespeare Company and for the Royal Court Theatre.
But this will be the first time the director, from Radcliffe, has been at the helm of a stage production in more than 20 years.
The date when the production will run has as yet not been confirmed, other than as part of the winter 2010 season.
Danny broke into films in 1994 with his big screen debut, Shallow Grave, which he followed with Trainspotting.
His latest film, Slumdog Millionaire, won eight Oscars and seven BAFTAs.
