HOUSEHOLDS in the North West produce more rubbish than anywhere else in the country, according to a government survey.
The sustainable development survey, which looks at 68 different factors to gain a snapshot of each region, also reveals the North West has the most burglaries, the most households that have difficulty getting to a doctor’s surgery without a car, and one of the lowest levels of productivity. The Office of National Statistics study found the region’s bird population was increasing faster than anywhere else.
