A CYCLE ride to Wales is set to raise £15,000 for Bolton Lads and Girls Club.
The club is looking for people keen to test themselves by riding 100 miles in two days to help children who have to look after their parents.
The challenge, called “Enter the Dragon’s Den”, will start at Stoak, near Chester, on Saturday, September 13, and finish at Abersoch the next day, stopping overnight in Rhos-on-Sea.
Entry to the event is £40 per head, or £20 if part of a team of five or more, to cover the cost of a club cycle shirt, overnight camping, and meals.
The club is asking cyclists to raise £200 per head in sponsorship, or £150 if part of a team of five or more. The money will be spent on a new project at Bolton Lads and Girls Club called Young Champions.
The club’s Simon Baker, wearing a dragon’s costume donated by Fancy That dress hire in Chorley Old Road, said: “Young Champions will organise trips and activities for young people who have to look after sick parents.”
Anyone interested in entering should call Simon on 01204 540116.
