TWO pupils from Bolton School have joined The Royal Bank of Scotland’s commercial office as part of a summer employment initiative.
The scheme has been designed for sixth formers interested in pursuing a career in banking and finance. They have joined RBS as full members of the commercial banking team and will be paid a salary for their month-long placement.
The pupils had to formally apply and were interviewed by a panel of bank staff.
They will sit alongside relationship and portfolio managers and will be given full exposure to the day to day workings of a commercial banking centre.
Richard Catterall, careers teacher at the boys division of Bolton School, said: “The scheme has been designed to be as realistic as possible and will provide our pupils with a clear insight into the world of banking.
“The two successful students will have the first taste of life in the commercial world and I’m sure this will provide them with a good understanding of what to expect when they finish their studies.”
