A Bury town centre venue will host its first ever queer cabaret night this week hosted by a star of an acclaimed Channel 4 drama. 

The Met on Market Street will launch LOUD Cabaret, a new queer cabaret night "to add magic and sparkle to your Thursday night".

The first event will take place at 8pm on Thursday, April 18 and will continue monthly.

Presented in association with Dibby Theatre, the award-winning LGBTQ+ national touring theatre company from Greater Manchester, LOUD Cabaret showcases the "most fabulous rising queer stars from across Bury and beyond".

It will be hosted by Dibby’s co-director Nathaniel Hall, a HIV activist well known for starring as an actor in It’s a Sin, the highly acclaimed Channel 4 drama.

The first event will see performances from three performers including, Hunter Millington a working class, northern, transgender performance maker, creative producer and drag king.

The inaugural show will also feature Minute Taker, a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, inspired by artists such as Kate Bush, the Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode.

With three critically acclaimed albums to his name, his song After the Rain (featuring Bright Light Bright Light) has been played on BBC Radio.

LOUD Caberet will also welcome Mandla Rae, a queer Zimbabwean writer, performer and curator.
