A yellow weather warning is in place for wind across the North-West of England with power cuts possible
The Met Office issued the alert from 6.25am until 10pm today.
The warning covers all of the south of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and above the North West to just below Carlisle and Middlesbrough.
A spokesperson for The Met Office said: "Strong winds may cause some disruption through Monday.
"It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and or large waves.
"Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
"Probably some bus and train services will be affected, with some journeys taking longer.
"Some short term loss of power and other services is possible.
"Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely."
Rain is expected throughout the day however no flood warnings are in place for the Mersey, Medlock, Douglas or Irwell rivers.
