Two men were taken to hospital after a "four car pile-up" on a motorway in Bury last night, Thursday.
Firefighters were called to the M66 Northbound at junction 3 for Pilsworth at around 11.30pm.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said the crash happened when highways officers were putting out cones for roadworks.
A firefighter at Whitefield station said: "We attended a four car pile up on the M66.
"It was at around 11.30pm, at the Pilsworth junction, heading towards Ramsbottom.

"Everyone got out safely. We helped police clean up and left, it was a police-led incident.
"Everyone was already out of their cars when we got there.
"We were there for around 20 minutes.
"It happened when highways were putting out cones when they were closing for roadworks."
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "Two men were taken to hospital, one with a head injury, the other with an arm injury."
