EVER wanted to take to the skies and travel the globe? Now might be the perfect opportunity, as a Prestwich entrepreneur is set to launch a cabin crew training and recruitment company.

Michael Lawson, founder of Time2Fly, will this summer unveil his Get Ready to Fly interactive introductory cabin crew course.

Working in cabin crew for the past 14 years for some of the worlds top airlines, including British Airways, FlyDubai and Air Seychelles, Mr Lawson has travelled the globe many times over.

For the last five years he has also plied his trade as a cabin crew instructor and recruiter, and communications trainer for pilots, for one of Europe's fastest growing airlines.

He said: "Growing up in Prestwich, travelling the world was a dream, one which became a reality.

"Travelling the world for free whilst getting paid became a very fortunate way of life for myself. Visiting amazing destinations like New York, Toronto and Cape Town and sometimes the not so amazing like the war-torn N’Djamena, Chad, in the heart of Africa or the poverty-stricken Chittagong, Bangladesh.

"From taking pilgrims to Mecca, soldiers to the Falklands and holiday makers to Cape Town, the experiences have been memorable.

"I’ll definitely never forget sunbathing around the pool in a war-torn hotel with the Swedish army whilst being protected by riflemen, or sitting in a RAF Tornado in the Falklands."

Mr Lawson's new course, Get Ready to Fly, is aimed at people who want to become cabin crew, fancy a career change or are about to study travel and tourism — whatever their age.

The course will take place in Manchester on August 4, 5, 15, and 16, with further courses taking place in Liverpool over the summer.

Running over two days it will teach budding cabin crew members everything they need to know for their first job in the clouds — from basic aviation to safety and emergency procedures to aviation first aid.

It will also provide hands-on experience, delivered by Mr Lawson and industry experts who have spent years at 36,000 feet for airlines, including Virgin Atlantic and Etihad Airways, who will share their stories and experience.

Mr Lawson said: "This course is the perfect foundation to start creating memories in a career that can take you to the four corners of the globe."
