SCHOOL leavers set off a flare on their final day at a Whitefield academy.
Footage posted on social media over the weekend shows year 11 pupils at Castlebrook High School, in Parr Lane, setting off the flare in a classroom last Friday.
No one was injured in the incident.
A spokesman for Shaw Education Trust, who run the school said: “One or two pupils were involved in end of year high jinks and the school are assisting the police with their enquiries.
“It’s an unfortunate end to a great year and doesn’t represent the hard work of the pupils and staff at the school.”
