MUSIC fans are being warned not to be conned by fake Parklife tickets.

Festival organisers have been contacted by police alerting them of "very convincing" fake tickets in circulation.

They are now urging festival goers not to purchase tickets from untrusted ticket outlets or strangers, online and in person — warning that holders of fake tickets will not be granted access to the event.

GMP Chief Superintendent, Graeme Openshaw, said: We recognise that for an event such as Parklife there are many people who will be unable to get tickets.

"Unfortunately every year we deal with unsuspecting victims who buy tickets from touts and get ripped off because the ticket turns out to be fake or stolen.

"Our advice would always be that if you don't know where that ticket has come from, and don't know the person who is selling it to you, don't be tempted to buy it."

A statement from Parklife organisers added: "You will not be granted access to the festival with a fake ticket. Don't put your weekend at risk, always purchase from one of our official outlets."

Thousands of fans are expected to attend the two day festival on June 9 and 10 at Heaton Park — with this year's line-up including Liam Gallagher, The XX and Skepta.

Parklife 2018 tickets can be purchased from official online ticket outlets: Ticketmaster, Ticket Arena, See Tickets, Skiddle, Festicket, Dice, Verve and Big Green Coach.
