A BURY-based health care provider has expanded, completing its take over of two other UK care companies.

National Care Group Ltd, has acquired Norfolk-based Westward Healthcare Ltd and Gloucester-based Access Care Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

The firm, which operates from Waterfold Park, Pimhole, provides care and support services to vulnerable adults with learning and physical disabilities, as well as those with mental health and other complex needs.

The two acquisitions, funded with support from Allied Irish Bank, form part of the NCG's growth strategy to reach a target of 5,000 beds by 2022 — expanding its current 643 UK-wide bed provision.

Over 50 beds will be added by the take over of Residential and domiciliary care provider, Access Care Ltd, which currently has two operating companies, Merry Den Care and Chosen Care offering supported living.

A further 37 beds will come from Westward Healthcare Ltd which operates specialised residential support for adult with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and other additional complex needs, from two sites.

Simon King, Senior Relationship Manager at Allied Irish Bank (GB) said: "NCG boast a highly specialised team who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support their clients and deliver the best possible service nationwide.

"I am delighted to be working with NCG to support the acquisition of Access Care Ltd and Westward Healthcare Ltd.

"David and the management team are very focused on growth and have experienced very impressive expansion over the last two years."
