ARMED response units were sent to reports of threats at a shop in Whitefield.
It is understood a shop worker at Misstique in Bury Old Road was threatened by two men in white suits who said they were going to run a vehicle into the side of the shop.
It is believed threats were also made that the two men had guns.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed the force had been called at 1.25pm to a shop in Bury Old Road to reports that threats were made.
Further reports were made that a weapon was involved and armed officers were sent to the scene.
No evidence of weapons has been seen and enquiries are on going.
No arrests have been made by Greater Manchester Police and anyone with any information should call 101 quoting incident number 922 of March 23, 2018. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be called on 0800 555 111.
