A PRESTWICH school is jumping for joy after bumper exam success.

Year 6 pupils at Prestwich Preparatory School are celebrating their achievements in the recent grammar school exams.

The pupils received a total of 34 places at various grammar schools along with four bursaries, a scholarship and a Headteachers award.

Patricia Shiels, head teacher at Prestwich Preparatory School said: "Once again, we are celebrating stunning exam success at Prestwich Prep School.

"We are very proud of our pupils. The year on year results we achieve through individual attention and focus on the children’s needs and parents continued support are evidence that we are a successful school.

"As ever most of our Year 6 pupils now have a choice of secondary schools which fulfils the primary aim of the school.

"These results are of course set against the background of our latest Ofsted report and in our opinion highlight the harsh treatment and inadequacies in it.

"We are a school where children feel safe, are tolerant and respectful of others, behave well and achieve academic success."
