SNOWFALL is likely across the region tomorrow as the UK braces for a blast of cold Siberian air dubbed the ‘beast from the east’.
Snow is likely to be concentrated in the east of the country today, though high ground may receive a dusting.
The worst weather will move west through the UK tomorrow, with the Met Office warning of plunging temperatures with the possibility of travel delays and power cuts.
An amber weather warning is in place for parts of the eastern UK, while a yellow warning has been issued for the North West on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Snow on Wednesday bill be concentrated in eastern parts of the North West region.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Snow showers or longer periods of snow are expected on Tuesday, accompanied by very low temperatures.
“There is the potential for travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel.
“Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.”
