It’s almost that spooktacular time of year again.
If you’re stuck for something to do this Halloween, take a look at our round up of events and activities taking place in Bolton and Bury.
1. Ghost and History Tour, Smithills Hall Museum
Thursday, October 19 - 7pm to 8.30pm
Smithills Hall invites you to join the fiendish goings on this Halloween as the tour of the hall will feature some spooky stories and terrifying tales. The tour is suitable for ages 16+ and can be booked now in person at the History Centre in Bolton Central Library or by calling 01204 332 185
Tickets are £8 for adults and £7 for concessions.
2. Halloween Ghost Trains, East Lancashire Railway
Trains running from Thursday 26th to Saturday 28th October at 5.30pm, 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm
Greater Manchester’s very own Ghost Train is coming back to haunt the services from Bury to Rawtenstall and back. Among the passengers will be a creepy cast of ghouls, ghosts and goblins. Those brave enough to board will be treated to food and drink at the station buffet and children will receive party bags full of treats.

3. Creepy Craft Workshop, Bury Transport Museum
Thursday 26th to Saturday 28th October
Whilst waiting to board the train, why not make your very own scary mask or Halloween monster to take on board with you? If the little ones are feeling inspired, recreate one of the ghouls they shared their train journey with. Adults are also encouraged to make their own masks and join in the fun.

4. GMFR Annual Fright Fest, Bury Training and Safety Centre
Friday 27th October, 4pm to 6pm or 6pm to 8pm
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Centre host their yearly Halloween Extravaganza on October 27. Get ready for a haunted tour, face paint, games and competitions and more as Wellington Street is under a spooky spell.
5. Witches and Ghouls Halloween Party; Party and Play Funhouse, Wingates Industrial Estate, Westhoughton
Friday and Saturday, 27th and 28th October, 5.30pm to 7.30pm
From fancy dress to creepy grub and lots of party games and prizes to be won. Children will also leave with a party bag filled with ghoulish goodies. For grown-ups, there is a licensed bar serving beer and wine. Places are limited on both nights with tickets at £12.99 each.
6. Lantern Parade, Nuttall Park, Ramsbottom
Saturday, 28th October 3pm to 6pm
Treat your children to a pumpkin to bring along and carve to enter the pumpkin competition. The lantern parade at 6pm is just one part of the fun. Crafts, face painting, games, refreshments and much more will be available on the day. Fancy dress is encouraged. Parking is limited so walking to recommend.
7. Amazonia, Bolton, Market Place Shopping Centre
Saturday, 28th October 6.30pm to 8.30pm
2017s Halloween spooktacular features a live snake show at a special Halloween event. Spooky snacks are included as well as Halloween-themed ice cream and a trick or treat event. Of course fancy dress is a must!

8. Blind Tiger Halloween Hallowoki, Blind Tiger Bolton
Saturday, 28th October 1pm to 4pm
The Halloween-themed karaoke is for over 18s only. Is your singing voice a thriller? The Blind Tiger is the place to be for their 2017 “Halloweenoke”. Be sure to wear your most spine-tingling Halloween costumes for this scream of an event.
9. Annabelle’s Challenge, Boltholt Hotel Bury
Saturday, 28th October 1pm to 4pm
Fun, Fancy Dress and Face Painting are promised at this kid’s Halloween Party being hosted by Eventbrite for local charity Annabelle’s Challenge. Tickets include a buffet lunch and a DJ will be there providing all the scariest tunes.
Tickets are £8 plus booking fee and available from Eventbrite.
10. Halloween Bonfire and Fireworks Spectacular, The Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa Bolton
Sunday, 29th October 4pm to 10pm
Halloween-themed bonfire to end Halloween weekend. Get ready for sparkling fireworks and a toasty bonfire with more Halloween themed tales.
Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children
