A CARE home in Prestwich has been awarded platinum status for its end-of-life care.

FED care home Heathlands Village was awarded with the highest possible national accreditation under the Gold Standards Framework which measures nursing care standards for homes throughout the country.

The award was made at the GSF National Conference on Friday September 29 and was accepted on behalf of The Fed by CEO Mark Cunningham and Clinical Director, Karen Johnson.

Karen said: “This award is a credit to the wonderful people who work for us – nursing staff, care workers and housekeepers too – in fact everyone involved in ensuring we provide excellent care and support at the end-of life. I’m very proud of them.

“It recognises that the care we provide in people’s final days, gives them and their loved ones total support: physical, emotional and spiritual, with as much choice, control and dignity as possible.”
