TWO global superstars will take to the stage at Emirates Old Trafford over the coming week – and public transport is the best way to get there.

Around 25,000 fans are expected to attend Rihanna’s Anti World Tour tonight, while another music icon, Beyoncé, also plays at Emirates Old Trafford next Tuesday (July 5).

As many as 50,000 fans are set to descend on the venue and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is advising people that public transport offers the best way to get to and from these gigs.

By tram.

People looking to get to Emirates Old Trafford by Metrolink can do so by catching the Altrincham tram from the Deansgate-Castlefield stop and getting off at Old Trafford – a short walk from the venue.

Tickets should be purchased from on-stop ticket machines in advance of boarding or via the get me there app www.getmethere.co.uk.

Due to essential work on both the Eccles via MediaCityUK line and in St Peter’s Square there are currently no north to south cross city trams operating.

Please allow extra time for your journey and visit the Metrolink website for more information.

By bus.

Special shuttle buses will run to Trafford Bar from 4pm onwards from Fairfield Street, next to Piccadilly Station.

An event bus ticket is available from the driver and costs just £3.

People will also be able to catch the Metrolink Eccles Line replacement buses, X1 and X3, from Fairfield Street.

People heading back towards the city after the gigs are advised to catch the shuttle buses to get back to Fairfield Street and the tram if they wish to get to Deansgate-Castlefield.

By train.

People travelling by train are advised to check times before setting off.
