BOLTON and Bury were hit by several inches of snow overnight - on the eve of the May bank holiday weekend.
Temperatures plunged on Thursday evening and snow fell from the early hours, making road conditions hazardous in some places.
However, the sun is beginning to break through to melt the ice.

The snowfall followed a heavy and thunderous rainstorm that hit parts of Bolton last night.
