CHRISTMAS is just around the corner and you can grab your perfect tree – while giving Bury Hospice a gift.

Last year, the hospice raised £7,500 by auctioning off a fantastic selection of trees in an event called the Festival of Trees and supporters are holding it again this year.

Appropriately enough, they have been given a helping hand by auction experts Bury Auctioneers and Valuers, who have generously handed over floor space at a unit next to the Natwest Bank in The Rock shopping centre in Bury town centre.

The unit will be open at 10am on Saturday and is open until noon on December 12.

Hospice fundraiser Michelle King said: “The idea is that people place silent bids on the trees and the highest bidder wins the tree, the decorations and all the gifts that come with it, at the close of bidding.”

“There are some fabulous trees and gifts on offer, as well our Christmas cards and new-year diaries, Mill Gate 'Naked’ calendars, Christmas Gifts and a fantastic range of Grace Cole toiletries with an 80-per-cent discount, with all profits being donated to the hospice.

“Bury Auctioneers will also be putting photographs of all our trees on its website and hope their clients will bid too.”
