A round-up of people who have appeared in court in Bury. 

A RADCLIFFE man has been jailed for 14 weeks for harassing and pestering a woman.

Terry O'Brien, aged 32, of Duke Street, had been warned by Bolton Crown Court to stay away from the woman and to stick to the terms of a restraining order issued in October 2014.

However, on August 28 this year he harassed and pestered her at her home in Bollin Way, Whitefield.

He denied the offence to Bury magistrates on September 3 and was found guilty after a trial on Monday.

The court imprisoned O'Brien because he had breached the order previously.

Upon leaving jail, O'Brien must stay away from the woman until at least next October.

He must also pay £330 in court costs.

A MAN has been ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work for assaulting a woman.

Ainsley Barrington, aged 22, of Lawndale Close, Radcliffe, admitted to Bury magistrates last Thursday that he assaulted Chelsea Coats in Heaton Street, Prestwich, on May 27 and damaged her mobile phone.

He has also been banned from contacting Ms Coats until at least July 2016.

A 23-MONTH ban from the road is the punishment for a man caught drink driving.

Daniel Roach, aged 26, of Heaton Street, Prestwich, drove a Nissan Juke car along Bury Old Road, Prestwich, on August 15 while over the legal alcohol limit.

He admitted the offence to Bury magistrates last Friday and was also ordered to pay £295 in fines and court costs.

Roch most also stay home from 7pm and 7am daily until January 7 and where an electronic monitoring tag.

A WOMAN has been banned from getting behind the wheel for a year after admitting drink driving.

Michelle Lynch, aged 33, of Thatch Leach Lane, Whitefield, drove a Peugeot 208 car in Fountain Place, Whitefield, on August 30 while over the legal alcohol limit.

She admitted the offence to Bury magistrates on Friday and was also ordered to pay £565 in fines and court costs.

A MAN who attacked a woman and resisted arrest has been ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work.

Carl Chadwick, aged 30, of Willow Street, Bury, admitted to Bury magistrates on September 21 that, on August 23, he assaulted Danielle Smith in Bury and then resisted arrest.

In a sentencing hearing on Monday, Chadwick was also told to pay £210 in court costs and £100 compensation to Ms Smith
