ENTERPRISING Prestwich businesswoman Amy Wordsworth has landed a £60,000 boost after a "pitch perfect" appearance on BBC Two's popular Dragons' Den show.

The founder of Good Bubble — the UK’s first range of superfruit toiletries for kids — secured the vital backing after entering the Den during the latest episode of the programme on Sunday.

After overcoming a dizzy spell during the grilling, Amy went on to impress and secured a £60,000 investment from Dragon and successful entrepreneur Deborah Meaden for a 40 per cent stake in the business.

The 27-year-old, of Highfield Road, said: "It was certainly a rollercoaster in the Den. The pressure does mount which left me feeling rather light-headed at one point.

"But, the Dragons rallied round and after lending me a chair to recover I carried on with the pitch.

“I am thrilled to have Deborah’s support. With her level of knowledge, experience in building retail brands and driving routes to market, my dream of seeing Good Bubble become a part of families’ lives the world over is within reach.”

The investment boost will support a programme of international expansion, new product development, branding, PR and marketing campaigns.

Launched in 2014 with a mission to bring some excitement to children’s bathtime, Good Bubble is the first children’s range to use superfruits and all products contain natural, gentle ingredients with no harsh chemicals.

Whimsical characters Dexter Dragon Fruit and Clara Cloudberry, developed by Amy and created by children’s illustrator Kristyna Litten, feature on the bottles of haircare, body washes and bubble baths to create a magical story to engage little ones.

Deborah said: "The natural formulations and the fun element were a big part of Good Bubble’s appeal.

"For me, it’s also as much about the people as it is the products. I was quickly impressed by Amy’s level of research and knowledge of her market.

"The energetic passion with which she has built the brand, coupled with how she carried herself in the Den and came back fighting from a tricky moment, clinched it for me.”

Former Parrenthorn High School pupil Amy founded her own Ella Banks Ltd company three years ago and following a year of research Amy’s Good Bubble brand of toiletries was launched in 2014.

They are being produced by her parents’ Middleton-based toiletries manufacturing company, Wordsworth UK.
