IT'S a "magic" moment for Whitefield woman Kay Murray.
She has been installed as the first lady president in the 106-year history of The Order of The Magi (Manchester’s Magicians’ Society).
The ceremony took place at the society's annual general meeting and Kay takes on the mantle for the next 12 months.
She is no newcomer to magic as her mother performed on the Manchester scene as Trixie Queen.
The Magi says it greatly welcomes Kay to the long list of presidents and looks forward to pledging support throughout her year in office.
Not only is Kay the first female president but the only lady member of the Magi. She is also a member of the British Music Hall Society and the British Ring of The International Brotherhood of Magicians.
Membership details for The Order of The Magi can be found on www.orderofthemagi.org.uk or by telephoning secretary Mike Sharples on 0161 287 7865. The society normally meets twice a month at the Irish World Heritage Centre in Manchester.
