FASHIONISTAS are flocking to Prestwich from as far away as Germany — to get their hands on a very special product.

Entrepreneur Chantelle Perry is one of only a handful of hairstylists who can provide sought-after hair which comes all the way from Russia to her salon, the Perriee Spa, in Butterstile Lane.

The 28-year-old has been styling hair for 13 years and developing hair extension-fitting techniques for the last decade.

She explained: "Commonly, hair extensions come from women from India and China, so the hair tends to be dark and sometimes thick. By the time it is fitted, it has gone through a lot of processing, so they only last up to six months.

"In contrast, Russian hair is lighter and needs less processing, so lasts up to two years and our customers love it."

The mother-of-one, who is originally from Hull, used to fit extensions for singer and X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, and counts several celebrities among her current client list and some customers from Ireland and Scotland. Extensions can cost as much as £1,200.

"We even supply hair to Jewish women so they can make wigs and our salon has a private area where Muslim and Jewish women can be pampered if they wish," added Chantelle.

Chantelle, who had to visit Moscow to set up links with suppliers for the hair, has now been entered into a styling contest, which takes place at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on April 14.

Together with colleague Cristiano Melucci, she will compete in the Loreal Colour Trophy competition and will be challenged to create the best-looking colour blend in just 30 minutes.

Chantelle said: "It's very exciting and we're both looking forward to it.

"The business is going well and it's nice when you see customers coming back and recommending our services to their friends."
