A PLUMBER turned violent on visiting the home of his ex-partner to pick up his belongings after they split up.
After the woman refused to let him go upstairs Jonathan Gala kicked her in the abdomen and thigh, Manchester magistrates were told.
And before leaving he thumped her in the left eye, said Eileen Rogers, prosecuting.
Gala, of Phillips Park Road East, Whitefield, pleaded guilty to assaulting his former partner and was ordered to pay her £100 compensation.
He was sentenced to carry 100 hours unpaid work with £145 costs – and attend a specified activity programme.
The assault took place after the couple’s two-and-a-half-year relationship broke down last month, said Mrs Rogers.
On the day of the offence, Gala, who suffers from depression had failed to take his medication, it was said.
