ENGINEERS were called out to Bury after a power cut left 811 properties without power on Christmas Day.
Homes in an area stretching from Unsworth to Bury town centre lost their electricity supply at about 5.30pm due to a high voltage fault.
Electricity North West sent workers to fix the problem and all properties got their power back by 6.20pm.
A spokesman said: "We would like to apologise to everyone affected."
Initially, Electricity North West's website had said it would be 3am on Boxing Day before things got back to normal.
On Twitter, Amanda Read said: "Christmas power cut in Unsworth. Get it sorted – kids, dogs and torches don't mix for more than five minutes."
In response, Liam, manning Electricity North West's Twitter account said: "Our engineers do their best to do repairs as soon as possible.
"The beers in the fridge should still be cold. Enjoy your Christmas."
