A MAN was left with a fractured skull and brain injuries after a cyclist crashed into him while he was crossing the road.
The 47-year-old was crossing Derby Way at the junction of Rochdale Road at 12.25pm on September 15 when a cyclist who was riding on the road crashed into him.
The man had been last person in a group of pedestrians to cross Derby Way towards The Rock shopping centre.
He was seriously injured and was taken to Salford Royal Hospital. The cyclist stopped at the scene.
PC Ian Littlewood said: “We launched an investigation following the collision and are trying to build up a picture of exactly what happened before the incident.
“It was a busy afternoon with many shoppers on their way to The Rock shopping centre who may have witnessed the collision.”
