A TOILET was destroyed in a fire started by a tealight.
A family of two adults and a two-year old child were alerted to the blaze after a smoke alarm went off in their house in Myrtle Street North, Bury.
The fire had started after from a tea light which had been left alight while resting on the cistern of a plastic toilet.
The bathroom was badly damaged and firefighters were had to use a fan to get the smoke out of the house.
Paramedics were called to treat the man and the child, who had inhaled some smoke.
