THREE teenagers have been sentenced for stealing railway models worth thousands of pounds from a Whitefield shop.
On December 3 last year, Aran Stroud, aged 19, of Delves Road, Sheffield, along with a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, broke into the Loco Shed shop in Bury Old Road and fled with a large number of models.
All three appeared before Bury magistrates on March 12 and each admitted trespassing at the shop and stealing models worth £2,669.
Magistrates ordered Stroud to follow the terms of a community order, which include attending support appointments for 18 hours.
He must also pay £166 in compensation to the shop owners as well as £85 court costs.
The two other defendants were sentenced at Sheffield Youth Court last week. They were ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service and to abide by the terms of a 12-month youth rehabilitation order.
The teenagers were arrested in a car near to the shop after neighbours heard a loud noise and reported it to the police.
A spokesman for the Loco Shed declined to comment.
