ORIGINAL AC/DC frontman Dave Evans has signed to Whitefield independent record label Rocksector Records.
Dave formed the classic hard rock band with brothers Angus and Malcolm Young back in 1973.
He left the following year and was replaced by Bon Scott shortly before the band started receiving international acclaim.
Evans went on to enjoy success in Australia with Rabbit, Thunder Down Under and also toured the United States and Europe with his band The Baddasses.
Rocksector, which is also the home of up-and-coming Bury metal band Fury UK, will release Evans’ album Judgement Day on April 12, with a full UK tour also in the works for May, although dates are yet to be confirmed.
Lynne Hampson from Rocksector, said: “Everyone at the label is excited about this signing.
“Dave is a singer with a real heritage and his addition to our roster gives a great contrast where many of our artists are new bands making their way and developing or establishing themselves in their career.
“Dave brings something different. He’s seen it all and comes to us self-assured but with an infectious enthusiasm and love for what he does.
“We’re really looking forward to people hearing the album and seeing the live shows.”
