ORIGINAL folk rock legends Fairport Convention will play The Met, in Bury, on Thursday, May 13.

The band will perform an acoustic set featuring selection of old favourites and new material. As well as classics from their enormous back catalogue, the band will be airing songs and instrumentals intended for their forthcoming new album.

This line-up features Simon Nicol (vocals, guitar), Dave Pegg (bass guitar), Ric Sanders (violin), Chris Leslie (mandolin, fiddle, vocals) and Gerry Conway (percussion).

“We're really looking forward to visiting Bury again.” says founder-member Simon Nicol. “We love the local audience and The Met is a great venue for live music.”

Last year the venue was voted into the top 100 music venues in the country, and was rated higher than well-known venues including the Apollo in Manchester and the world-famous London Astoria.

After their May tour, the band members will be preparing for their annual open-air music festival at Cropredy in Oxfordshire which takes place on August 12, 13 and 14.

Tickets for the show at the Met cost £14 or £12 for concessions and members. To book, visit themet.biz or ring 0161 761 2216.
