Auction House has become the first UK property auctioneer to sell more than 3,000 properties in a year since 2008.

The award-winning company has announced that the group sold 3,058 sales from 3,903 offered in 2014 – a success rate of 78.3%, and raising over £360m in the process (£364,004,054). The figures represent an uplift of more than 17% in lots sold compared to 2013, well ahead of sector growth at only 2%.

Director, Oliver Adams said: “It’s a spectacular achievement and only the fourth time the 3,000 lot figure has been exceeded in UK auctioneering history. It means that Auction House now has a national market share of more than 11% of residential and commercial lots combined. In other words, one in every nine auction lots sold across the country is being sold by us.

“When we started business in 2007, we claimed we would revolutionise the UK auctions industry with our policy of selling local properties to local buyers through regional auction rooms. But – as Henry Ford said - you can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do. Now, seven years later, that reputation has been earned: private, national and corporate clients across the country are turning to Auction House as the auctioneer of choice.”

In the last twelve months, Auction House has added auction rooms in Derbyshire, Essex, Staffordshire, Hampshire, North Wales and Dorset, and seen significant growth in its London auction room of 65%. A dedicated Northern UK Commercial Auction commences in February 2015 along with online auctions now being trialled 2015 will be another exciting year for Auction House UK.

Oliver added: “Private sellers are choosing the auction method of sale in greater numbers because of the speed and certainty it offers. Plus more national and corporate instructions are being directed into regional auctions, with Auction House leading this switch and delivering a near 100% success rate on repossession and receivership stock.

“Auction House is providing the point of difference that is helping to grow our results as well as the market as a whole. And with over 220 auctions scheduled at our 40 venues, we have every expectation that 2015 will prove to be just as successful.”
